I hope everyone is staying warm and dry this winter. It’s been a wet one. On behalf of the amateurs I would like to congratulate all of our 2012 Year End Winners!! You all worked very hard last year to earn these awards, and your hard worked paid off.

The general meeting was held this past January at Timberlake Country Club. There was a good attendance to our banquet. The amateurs elected new Officers and Board members. Your new officers are as follows: Vice President – Lisa Wheeler, Secretary/Treasurer – Jackie Rushton.  New Board members are as follows: Kyle Railey, Tina Hammonds, Beverly Davis, Wendy Boynton, and Joanna Roper. Thank you to all for giving back to your amateur association!

I hope everyone had a good show at the Dixie Nationals this year, let us know how you did!

YOUR OPINION MATTERS—Voice It!!!!!

It is time to start planning the 2013 Summer Sizzler Show again! Last year’s show numbers were GREAT, and we hope to have even better numbers this year. There are already over 130 stall reservations and they are coming in daily. Mark Harrell Horse Shows will be managing the show again this year, and we look forward to working with them again. The show bill is complete and can be found on Mark Harrell Horse Shows website, along with our own. We will have great prizes and vendors again this year.

Even with the anticipation and excitement of the 2013 Summer Sizzler, let’s not forget our youth. We need to support them and their show in Montgomery in April. The youth are the future, and without them our organization will die, so please make plans to attend and support the ALQHYA Show.

The Amateurs are selling raffle tickets at $10 a ticket to win a FREE flat fee at the 2013 Summer Sizzler. We will be selling tickets through May 27^th, and the drawing will be held on Monday during the show. So please contact Cheryl Cardwell or myself to get your tickets to sell. All proceeds will go to the Amateurs.
