Hello Fellow Youth!

     It’s a brand new year with new opportunities for all of us Alabama Quarter Horse Youth this 2012! I am honored and privileged to have been elected the 2012 President for the ALQHYA! I promise to do my best to make great strides in moving our association forward for the benefit of ALL our members. I am excited to work with our new officers, directors and advisors as a team to make this year the best yet!

     Looking back at 2011 our youth had a fantastic year. I wish to thank our 2011 Youth Advisor/ Director, Jock Hernig, for all his leadership and wisdom. Many thanks and applause should be given to our outstanding parent advisors, Karen Hart, Kim Hazel, Darcy Ward, Jan Hernig, and Tina May for devoting their time, ideas, and just plain hard work this past year. Also I would like to thank our 2011 officers for a job well done. Through their dedication and hard work we accomplished so much!

     Congratulations to our new 2012 officers, Vice President: Mr. Price Walker, Secretary/ Reporter: Ms. Lena Hernig and Treasurer: Ms. Brooke Hazel and a warm welcome to all our new youth members! Together we will accomplish even more this year and strive to serve our youth members well. Also, congratulations to our 2012 Youth Director, Mr. Jock Hernig and our 2012 Youth Advisor, Mrs. Karen Hart.

     I would like to encourage ALL our youth members to get active, get involved, share your thoughts, bring your expertise, and invite your friends to join together to make our 2012 ALQHYA a success! We are going to have some exciting events, fundraisers, and shows this year so everyone can have an opportunity to join in and HAVE FUN! Don’t miss our first meeting at Timberline in Calera, Feb 12th, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. EVERYONE is invited to kick off our new year for the Alabama Quarter Horse Youth.

     Thank you in advance for your support and I am looking forward to meeting and visiting with each and every one of you! We will make a difference that will be noticed today and in the future, as we carry out our motto from last year, “ALQHYA – the backbone of our future.”
